Midwives do an incredible job. You may have read my accounts of Matthew, Anya and Zach‘s births and know that each time was very different.
Thank you to the 3 main midwives that safely delivered my three babies. It was all in a day’s work for you but it changed my life forever.
Thank you to the first one who told me to stop screaming and put my energy into pushing (even though I had no urge to push 🙁 ). I didn’t appreciate your strictness at the time 🙂 but you did say sorry afterwards when you saw how big Matthew was!
Thank you to my second midwife, who I admit was my favourite. She was also there when Anya was turned around because she was breech. This midwife was pregnant herself and I saw her afterwards at Tesco with her little one and it made me really happy. She said she’d never seen anyone so relaxed while being stitched up 🙂
Thank you to the third who was very young but professional. I didn’t really have time to bond with you because the delivery was so fast and then you went off duty.
Thank you to the community midwives who did all the ‘boring’ but essential checks every few weeks to make sure the babies were growing well. Thank you for the support after the births, the visits to check all was ok.
Midwives, thank you! You all provide a wonderful service to women all over the world and so today please feel appreciated and know you have made a huge impact on lives.
